This private Yunnan tour starts and finishes in Kunming, with a rail connection to Dali and separately agreed transfers and sightseeing transport. The six overnight stops are Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La, Lijiang and Kunming. That means several hotel changes. If lakeside time, old-town walks and family downtime matter most, consider keeping Dali and Lijiang as the main bases. If all four cities are priorities, discuss a longer trip. The daily reference below is a starting point; selected visits, transport and costs are confirmed in your written plan.

Seven days, or extend to eight to ten?
Seven days includes arrival and departure, so the multi-city reference has several hotel changes. Discuss extra nights if you want longer stays in Dali or Lijiang, or a Shaxi stop. Use those nights for time in each place. With a fixed week, reduce cities or visits instead. Shaxi requires a change to this reference.
How can this work with parents or children?
Describe comfortable walking periods, stairs, rest breaks and room requirements. Fewer hotel changes can help more than simply starting later. Check the vehicle meeting point, lifts and luggage handling for old-town stays. Discuss the Shangri-La and mountain sections separately; consult a doctor before travel if you have health concerns.
Private driver throughout, or trains and local transfers?
The reference uses rail from Kunming to Dali; it does not promise one car for all seven days. Compare trains with local transfers against more road travel using your actual arrival and departure times. Check passenger and luggage capacity, station transfers and waiting arrangements. A driver, a guide and English-language support are separate services to confirm.
How do we make day six manageable?
Confirm the return transport from Lijiang to Kunming before selecting the mountain visits. If Spruce Meadow and Blue Moon Valley are priorities, discuss dropping Lashihai or Shuhe. If time is still tight, consider an extra Lijiang night or a different departure city. Completion of every listed stop on that day is not guaranteed.
Which Jade Dragon Snow Mountain cableway is planned?
The reference is Spruce Meadow and Blue Moon Valley. The Glacier Park cableway is not part of the original reference; discuss it separately if you want to add it. Confirm cableway tickets, scenic transfers and visiting areas individually. Discuss alternatives and cost changes if weather, reservations or opening conditions affect the plan. Photography locations and the proposed afternoon tea also need date-specific confirmation.
What information should I send for a quote?
Share dates or a travel month, adult and child numbers, arrival and departure cities and times, rooms, luggage, preferred language and your three priority experiences. You can start with the information you already know, then confirm hotels, transport and tickets with the travel manager. An enquiry does not confirm a booking.
Day 1 · Arrive in Kunming

Day 2 · Rail to Dali and old-town time
Take the agreed train to Dali, explore the old town and discuss the open-top jeep and flower-field photography experience. Confirm the S-bend location and proposed afternoon tea.

Day 3 · Erhai Lake to Lijiang
Plan an Erhai boat visit to Jinsuo Island and a stop described as “Santorini”, with the exact venue confirmed before booking. Continue to Lijiang Old Town.

Day 4 · Tiger Leaping Gorge and Shangri-La
Follow the Tea Horse Road town reference, First Bend of the Yangtze and Tiger Leaping Gorge to Dukezong Old Town. The Tibetan-style banquet and exact earlier town stop need confirmation.

Day 5 · Pudacuo and back to Lijiang

Day 6 · Spruce Meadow, Blue Moon Valley and Kunming
The reference lists Lashihai, Spruce Meadow, Blue Moon Valley and Shuhe before returning to Kunming. Finalise transport first and adjust the visits to realistic timing. The Glacier Park cableway is not in this reference.
