March to May: spring layers and changing weather

Spring is green and atmospheric, with mild days and frequent mist. Pack a light rain layer and keep Tianmen Mountain timing flexible when visibility changes.

June to August: lush scenery and peak demand

Summer brings deep green forest and longer daylight, but also heat, showers and larger holiday crowds. Early starts and pre-booked ticket times matter most.

September to November: comfortable walking weather

Autumn often gives the best balance of cooler temperatures, layered views and manageable rain. Chinese public-holiday dates still need special crowd planning.

December to February: quiet, cold and occasionally snowy

Winter can be peaceful and dramatic, but ice, wind or maintenance may affect cable cars and mountain paths. Build a backup day into the route.
